When you retire you have to make choices! Get under the wife's feet, become a couch potato, take up golf with the rest of the retires or do something useful. I decided to do something useful, to scratch an itch that had been nagging at me for a long time. To follow my creative urge and take up Art. A formal Life Class led to a part time Foundation pre-degree and then a full time Fine Art degree at Blackpool Art School. I am proud to say I graduated with a 1st Class Hons degree and scooped the Fine Art Award for the top student, not bad for an old 4art! Since when I completed at Lancaster University, an MA in Contemporary Art Research, and a Practice-based PhD with the title - SNAPSHOT PHOTOGRAPHY: A PHATIC, SOCIALLY CONSTRUCTED, MNEMONIC TECHNOLOGY, the research study explores my cognitive response to a biographical snapshot photograph celebrating my first day at school and the snapshot as a socio-cultural phenomena.You are never too old to live your dream! About Me
A fine artist and photographer located on the Fylde coast in the North West of England.My work as an artist draws heavily on my experience as a photographer and profession as a scientist. Bringing together a fusion of photography, digital imaging, and fine art. The approach taken is highly experimental and combines a range of unconventional materials and processes in addition to the more traditional art media.
